About the S.S. Moyie, National Historic Site
The S. S. Moyie Sternwheeler was built in 1898 and provided transport to passengers and freight for 59 years on Kootenay Lake. The S.S. Moyie was retired from service in 1957 and started her second career as a historical site and museum, drydocked in Kaslo, BC. She is the oldest intact sternwheeler in the world and a Parks Canada National Historical Site.
A portion of the proceeds from these events goes towards maintenance and upkeep of the ship.
