Witness the moon rise over the Purcell Mountains atop Mount Buchanan near Kaslo, BC, while hearing first-hand why the moon has captivated civilizations for millennia from a professional story-teller, complemented by a local and accomplished musical duo. From Luna the Roman moon goddess, to astronauts who have walked on it, to the lunar effect that supposedly makes us all a little nuts during the full moon—we all have stories and interpretations of our earth’s constant dance partner in the sky. In “Mountaintop Music and Moonstories“ , you will have the chance to experience a moonrise like no other, peeking just over the Purcell mountains and growing ever stronger into the night. In the perfect darkness atop Mount Buchanan, you will “feel” the moon differently and wholly. In a style akin to Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Cafe, you will hear moon-themed stories and lore from local and captivating story-teller Barry Gray, punctuated with sensuous and captivating live music by Freya*, an outstanding guitar-violin duo. All this served with nourishing snacks and warm drinks will surely put you in a state of bliss that will make your day, week, month, or year. Long live the moon…..
