Raised in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, Erin developed a close relationship with the land at a young age and was taught to respect and honor the natural world. Years of military service added valuable leadership skills and the ability to communicate and understand group dynamics in adverse conditions. Erin’s formal training includes: Wilderness Skills Instructor, a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science and Renewable Energy, an Outdoor Council of Canada Certificate, a Wilderness First Aid Certificate, as well as years of experience as a hiking guide. His passion lies in teaching survival and naturalist skills, connecting people of all ages with nature, as well as documenting personal progression through observations in nature from a coyote mentoring perspective. Erin lives in Kaslo, BC and runs summer camps for children teaching practical survival skills, energy and resource management, ecology, and nature connection through his company, Outstanding in Nature.
